Light Study II
Solid maple blocks are arranged in a precise grid, alternating between carved fluted surfaces and smooth planes finished in 3 muted green colors. As light shifts throughout the day, the fluted sections catch and release shadow—creating a subtle, ever-changing pattern that gives the work a sense of motion without movement.
The contrast between raw wood grain and painted surfaces introduces a balance of warmth and restraint. Each block is individually shaped and placed, resulting in slight variations that make every piece unique.
Each piece is created in our Woodstock, Georgia studio. Variations in grain, tone, and carving ensure no two are exactly alike.
Designed to live quietly on the wall—equally at home in a gallery setting or a collected interior.
